Gratitude and Fearlessness This Holiday Season
Thankful for What I Have
I am deeply grateful for YOU. You have supported me, shared your worries, shared your strength, listened, participated, and allowed me to share my strength with you. You have - without a doubt - made my life better. We are always stronger together, I am sure of it. And that strength helps me fearlessly pursue what I still want. Which is what I want to share - ways to be thankful for what you have while being fearless for what you want.
A Personal Reflection of Gratitude
I have so much that I am thankful for. This year we moved back into our home on Sanibel (following the displacement last year from the hurricane), enjoyed vacations together as a family this summer, we have remained healthy, we built new friendships and ways of being, I built new business offerings and relationships, and I completed my yoga teacher training.
I am also deeply grateful for the people in my life. This includes my immediate family, extended family, friends, colleagues, clients, and those in my network (in person and virtual). I have been lifted up on my darkest days, giving me the strength to help lift others once I got back on my feet.
Relationships are the foundation and fabric of happiness and fulfillment.
Reflecting on everything I have fills my bucket. And from that full place, I can envision all of the things I still want: to be a leader in sustainable wellness, to create financial freedom, to be really present with my boys, and to have more FUN.
I'm sharing this so you can do the same. Write out all the things you are grateful for. The big and the small. Your morning coffee, hug from your friend or pet, your comfiest pajamas, the IG videos that make you laugh. Overall happiness is the sum of all the little things that bring you peace, joy, and comfort in addition to the big things.
Once you have your gratitude list, start thinking about what you want more of. More freedom? Peace? Fun? A new car, updated kitchen, specific vacation? Do you want to travel or move? Do you want a more fulfilling role or career? Or to deepen relationships, friendships, or repair a strained relationship?
Regardless of how big or small, write out your wish list and get excited about it. Create a vision board with pictures and hang it up to see every day. Take the time to create the vision of your dream life.
Why?
Because you are going to keep working hard. And I want you to work hard for what YOU want. Not the things you feel you have to do, but the things that light you up.
It doesn't matter if it feels unattainable at the moment. At one point in your life everything you have today seemed unattainable.
Think about that for a minute.
At some point in your past, you couldn't have foreseen all of the amazingness you have in your life today. Which means it is very possible to create the dreams you have for your future.
So as you head into the holiday week ahead, please hold both of these things front and center: gratitude for all you have and fearlessness for all you want.
I am so deeply grateful for YOU. Sending you tons of fun, laughs, and refilling of your cup :)
Cheers to a season of gratitude and dreams,
Sharon
